The memory of Kgosi Mogale wa Mogale led to the renaming of Krugersdorp to Mogale City. This historical book narrates the life and times of the heir to the throne of Bapo Bamogale, Kgosi Mogale wa Mogale; re-echoing a resounding testimony of outstanding leadership in the tragedy of time. As a popular Igbo proverb affirms, “Until the lions have their own historians, tales of the hunt shall always glorify the hunter,” and this aptly accentuates the need to regenerate the glory and historical achievements of the previously disadvantaged of South Africa. In essence, this historical book fundamentally implements astute lessons drawn from the proverb. It is a critique of the making and development of the allochtons history in South Africa, and offers an African liberating perspective of history focusing on African Kingship, matriarchy, bravery, history of Bapo Bamogale and their movement from the north of Kwa-Zulu through Limpopo into North West, Gauteng and then back to the North West.

Tlhabaki Modise was born and bred in Kagiso, Mogale City, Gauteng. He left his beloved country during the APARTHEID era and went into exile; ended up in the Netherlands where he did his tertiary education in the field of systematic theology. He returned to South Africa a decade ago and has since established himself as a historical research consultant and an independent Heritage resource specialist in Mogale City and presently in Sedibeng.
